"None other than private help for preschool.
The private Schools seem to all offer before and after child care."

We have a daughter in second grade who has attended after care at Avery Elementary through the Adventure Club program.  The Adventure Club staff are very dedicated and engage with all of the children.

If your children attend Glenridge Elementary in Clayton, the before and after care program there is excellent and highly utilized (~120 out of ~375 children at the school attend the program part or full time.)

Jackson Park elementary in U City has a YWCA-run before and after care program at the school. I have heard generally good things about it, such as the younger kids are paired with older ones so everyone has a buddy and gets to know others in the school.
